Lonesome

by Mags   Feb 28, 2007

Can't sit still
can't stay here
give me the bill
the car is near

Around the block
two more times
open the lock
and step in side

House is open
quiet, and dark
and in this moment
it seems so stark

Light turns on
shows just space
as empty as lawn
like a track for a race

Sit in sight
of the phone
but it's night
and I'm alone

Hear the clock
It's so loud
it likes to mock
it sounds so proud

Of being there
my only friend
it's very rare
that it has time to lend

Instead they stay
in their loving home
and I'm away
running all alone

I'm restless now
don't want to be
alone, but how
can I leave

Don't want to stay
to be here again
to hear that clock bay
that it's my only friend
