5 crys and 6 lies

by freedom   Mar 4, 2007

I was 7 when you told me the first
You said you would call
But in tears I would burst
Would make holes in the wall
For I wondered
Why you never did call

I was 10 when you told me the second
You said you cared
But you were never there
You walked away
With nothing else to say
I wasn't happy for the rest of the day
Only tears would run down my face

I was 12 when you told me the third
You told me you'd come to my play
But you didn't show up that day
Rain ran from my eyes
When would I see without you making me cry?
You told me you wouldn't hurt me
There goes lie number four
For you've already did that before

I was 13 when you told me the fifth
Said this story was true but it was just a myth
Said you were done doing shots
And others that would make you rot
Quicker in to your grave
But I saw you trading your body for it
With some guy in the closet
I cried
Why did you lie?

I was 14 when you told me the sixth
How you were happy with guy number 5
But you didn't know I saw you cry
When he threw you aside
I heard you pray that you wanted to die
But u stayed by his side
Didn't even try to fight
That's when I cried
Because that night you died

Amazing poem! The way you continue a theme throughout all of the verses is great!
