And Instead

by Poetvoices   Mar 5, 2007

Everything to art and nothing to academia.
And yet, our art is considered part of it all.
My future only holds a pen, a pencil, and some paper,
and not science except for that of poems.

A bubble bath with Frank and Michael and Mikey
gets me through foggy London Town.
gets my mind floating over the rainbow.
gets me marching towards the black parade and such.

My fuzzy brain strains to compute.
All the rain drains the stores to a loot.
My world swirls around in confusion.
All the hurl unfurls to reveal disillusion.

And instead, I sit and click the keys.
And instead, I divide the world be threes.
And instead, as far as homework, I don't do anything.
