He got what he wanted

by Kaila   Mar 6, 2007

Looking out the window
Thinking about her lost love
About in tears from pain
As she sends a message up above

Dear god please
Save me from this hurt
I can't do anything to stop it
I just feel like dirt

I shouldn't love him
I know that's true
But I keep going back
What should I do?

For I loved him once
More then you could know
We had so much love
It always seemed to grow

Except he would cheat
and he would lie
And all these things
He'd keep inside

He told me I was beautiful
He said I had it all
But after he got what he wanted
He left me there to fall

He never called back
I waited for the day
Until I called him
But I didn't know what to say

We waited in silence
For moments to come
Until he said "Who is this again"
Wow I felt so dumb

He didn't even remember my name
After he had put me through all this pain
So I swore to god I'd never go back
I really thought I was on the right track

Until I saw him one day in town
I smiled at him he didn't even care
I walked up to him and said hello stranger
He acted like i wasn't there

So I tapped him on the shoulder
And said excuse me remember me
He turned and smiled
Yes quite indeed

Your that chick who gave it to me
I dropped my jaw and cried
And all I ever wanted
Was for him just to say hi

Now I don't know what to do
This pain inside
Is killing me again
For the trillionth time

I absolutely loved this poem. I've felt what you went through and I know how you felt and this poem is a great representation of that. Your emotions come out strongly and the flow was great.

"He told me I was beautiful
He said I had it all
But after he got what he wanted
He left me there to fall"

I love this part the most because thats what most guy do.

Wow, so much emotion within this poem. This was an excellent write, just a few minor mistakes here and there which I am about to explain. Other than that this was greatly written. Keep up the great work.

This line, "About in tears from pain" I think it would flow better if you worded it like this, "Almost in tears from pain"

Also this line, "I smiled at him he didn't even care" I think would flow better if you changed it to this, "I smiled at him and he didn't even care"

Again, this line, "He acted like i wasn't there" I think would flow better if it was, "And he acted like i wasn't even there"

Yet again, I think this line, "And said excuse me remember me" would flow better if you changed it to this, "And said excuse me, do you remember me?"

This line, "Your that chick who gave it to me" you used the wrong "your" it should be "you're"

    Peace, Joe
