The River (lyric)

by Andy loves Jesus   Mar 7, 2007

Led me to the door.
So many questions need I explore.
Let me take you to the river.
Where my heart beats twice as pure.

I hadn't made up my mind.
Of what I'm going to do this time.
But I know it an't easy to define.

Teach me what you want.
Preach me what you know.
Show me another way.
Explain to me throughout my day.

The river is where I hide.

Problems holding on tonight.
I can't press lightly it's too tight.
Surrounding by what I can't state.
This is why I need to know your fate.

I hadn't made up my mind.
Of what I'm going to do this time.
But I know it isn't easy to define.

Teach me what you want.
Preach me what you know.
Show me another way.
Explain to me throughout my day.

The river is where I hide.

AND WHERE IT'S LEADING ME.
I DON'T WANT TO KNOW OR SEE.
I'M CALLING OUT FOR YOU TO BE.
THE ONE TO SET ME FREE.

BUT WHEN THE RAPIDS SET A FLARE.
STRAIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE AS NOT TO CARE.
WHEN I'M HURTING IT DON'T MATTER.
AS I SQUIRM PEACE WILL SHATTER.

I hadn't made up my mind.
Of what I'm going to do this time.
But I know it an't easy to define.

Teach me what you want.
Preach me what you know.
Show me another way.
Explain to me throughout my day.

The river is where I hide.
The river is where I die.
The river where I lie.

I really love this poem! It just spoke to me! I love the fact that it's saying how you live at the river and that the river is the place where you wash away everything, good and bad! Soon you fall in and it takes you away then you get into some rapids which could symbol the tough parts in life which was totally cool! I didn't much care for the ending...I mean although you hit the rapids you shouldn't give up so easily and just die....So I guess the ending disappointed me but, it was still really good! Keep it up!
