A 9/11 Tragedy

by Kyrstie   Mar 8, 2007

I go away to see my dad,
Who lives across the sea.
Mom sent me on the plane alone,
First time alone, for me.

I have the funnest time,
Visiting my dad,
He shows me all the sights,
I think it is so rad!

How I wish I could have stayed with him,
At least a few more days,
But the vacation's up, I have to go,
Back home to where I stay.

I climb aboard the massive jet,
I watch you wave good-bye;
I feel the tears start falling,
Before we even start to fly.

I sit and settle into my seat,
And dozing for a sec,
I wake to people screaming,
"This plane is gonna wreck!"

I look around in the confusion,
Men stand around with guns,
They tell us not to move an inch,
Until their job is done.

They tell us what they're gonna do,
These planes are gonna crash;
All of us are gonna die,
Just as soon as we will clash.

I do not have much time to think,
I don't know what to do;
So I get out my phone and say,
"Mom, I love you."

She thinks it's just another day,
And I wonder what she would have done,
If she had thought for just one second,
That I wouldn't ever coming home.

"I love you, Mom. I really do,
No matter where I'll be,
Please just remember the good times,
And let the bad times free.

I know you do not understand,
But you will soon enough;
I can not tell you anything,
This really must be tough."

When I hang up, I start to cry,
My cheeks are stained with tears.
As the men tell us, "Almost there!
I see the towers from here!"

All of us sit in silence,
No one makes a sound,
The planes were near to crashing,
Into the towers coming 'round.

And then in a split second,
Our lives were over, we were free.
Instantly dead were all of us,
In this 9/11 tragedy.
