The Lovers Dance

by James Nappo   Mar 9, 2007

The clouds roll by,
through the bluest sky.
You looked at me,
and took my hand,
and whispered gently,
"I know times are hard,
but soon all will be well.
Just trust in me,
and you will see,
death isn't what you need to be,
happy".
You smiled at me,
and now I see,
I could always be happy.

We danced the dance that lovers do,
just glad that you have me and I have you.
We laughed, we cried, I almost died...
But you saved me from myself,
and taught me that I can be happy.

So now the sun has set,
and night has made its presence known.
We lay in the grass,
and in the silence we both know...
That I'll be here forever,
and everything will be fine.
