Get Going

by Peter Williams   Mar 10, 2007

I can stare at you every second of the day
If only I had that much time to spare
I hope that this kind smile in my heart will always stay
The clock keeps ticking by but it doesn't bother me
You are the only thing I care about now
Because these are the things that you do to me... can't you see?
Take my hand and let's get ready to fall
Before the brain cells in my head regroup
I was stuck in your arms and that was all
For every second without you is agony
You're the reason I get up in the morning
I pry that the day goes that much faster
Please don't leave me any sign, plea, or fair warning
If you decide to push me back
They say True Love doesn't exist
But who are they to judge?
My heart beats as I steal that kiss
Let it last forever
Place your head next to mine
And let's melt within this pillow
Everything will be fine
That's my promise to you
Waking up with you in my arms
Is the only thing I dream about at night
Please look pass this man's boyish charms
For there is something genuine underneath
I can't stand those beautiful eyes
They make me crazy
Here's another poem memorized
This is crazy
I guess I should finish this
Please don't let me bore you
Now I start to reminisce
About the times we shared
Your smile gave me a hunch
That one day you'd be mine
Great Love happens all at once
But True Love waits
I guess I should get going
But I really don't want to
