The Story Unfolds

by Peter Williams   Feb 6, 2007

The story starts off with that classic line,
And the hero is always right on cue.
So let's begin on "Once upon a time",
Because this formula is nothing new.
Written in the pages on that bright screen,
I will try to fill in all of the blanks.
Give me inspiration and some caffeine,
And do not forget the sugar please thanks.
My writing hand never seems to get cramps,
I guess that makes me lucky for a night.
Sitting in the dark but surrounded by lamps,
I wonder who will hear this silent plight.
I struggled so hard to break this lasting mold,
For now I shall let this story unfold.
