Chopping Board

by BrokenREALiTy   Mar 11, 2007

Alone and dying,
My heart on a chopping board.
Blade being cleansed,
Taking all the love I can hoard.

Bleeding and punctured,
Wounds left unattended to.
Crying and screaming,
With one last look at you.

Once happy and satisfied,
I'm left torn in pieces.
Hands over my ears,
Sick of the same old excuses.

Sorrowful and hurt,
My will left lying broken.
Neglected and abused,
With much left unspoken.

Blade goes down,
And half my heart flies.
Blood dripping over edge,
As it starts to die.

Like what you've done to me?
See the blood on that sword?
This is what is left of me:
My heart on a chopping board.

Seems a little more for a dark poem. Other than that, it was such a great poem. You used such great emotion and imagery in your words. Well done!
    God bless 5/5
