Leigh (part 1)

by Lisa Rainbow   Mar 13, 2007

*~* These are for you Leigh, I do not know why you did it, how exactly you did it, I hope you did not do it cause you thought no one cared or loved for you, cause from this tragic death you had, it has effected a lot of people in so many ways. Leigh forever in our hearts with all love, Rest In Peace. *~*

Leigh, why did you go and do it?
It is the third night tonight,
Since I found out what you did.
Today when your death notice was in the paper,
It made this whole thing seen more real.

Friday night when I got home,
Mum told me Terry had dropped in whilst I was out,
And he came with bad news,
Bad news being that you had committed suicide.

That night it all did not feel as though it was real,
I thought it was just some very sick joke.

I told Amber that night what had happened,
She was left shocked.

I cried that night, I did not know what to do,
Did not know what was acceptable.
I could not think straight,
It was all such a massive shock.

To calm myself down,
And to think through things,
I went outside.

Whilst being outside for nearly an hour,
I saw two shooting stars,
And made a wish that you were,
Safe and I was wishing for,
What ever your reason for committing suicide,
I hope it was worth giving your whole life up.

The next day my sister Bec came on line,
And asked what had happened to you,
I told her,
And could not control my emotions.

Later on Dad came on line and went off at me,
About not telling him about you
And made me real upset,
For the rest of the night.

On Sunday,
In the paper there were two death notices on you,
That I have cut out.
Seeing these, has made me start to think its 100% real,
And you really did do it.

Now I am left here with a million questions.
I have not had the guts to go down to Terry's place,
To ask questions,
To see how he and your dad are,
See how everyone who is actually related to you is coping.
I hope they are doing well,
And do not attempt to do anything stupid.

Now I did not know you for long, especially the last 3 years of your life,
And the years from you were born,
Till you were a teenager.
But with the time that I have known you,
It was good. J

In ways you were like a brother to me,
It was great to hang out with you.

It was you, who taught me how to row a boat,
How to play eight ball.

When we would go out from dinner with Terry,
On Friday nights, at the Geilston Bay Yacht Club,
We would go in Terry's van.
Before you got your drivers license
You would make me sit between you and Terry.

You were always nice, and caring to wards me,
You were the best.
