Quiet Night

Quietly falls the rain,
on cool sumer nights
Crystal clear droplets
take away my deepest sorrows

i stare up at shining stars
spread across a vast black sky
I try to reach out and grab them,
but discover they are farther than they seem

AS the wet earth beneath my body
begins to softly shake,
the glass is finally broken
and I have been set free

My bed of shadowed roses
whispers secrets of the wind
telling time old tales of love
with death soon approaching

When the silver moon
shines brightly over head
my eyes will close eternally
for a new life to begin
