Tonight I cry
As the walls of my heart
Pulled apart
And my soul seeped
Through the cracks.

A ripping sound
Tore through the night
Crushing hope
As the vessel fell
Upon the tracks.

No lingering reminder
Of the love held inside
Now empty
Is the silence
That faces me tonight

I walk alone
Among the wreckage
hoping I will find
Just a single
Recollection of
The dreams you left behind.
