So let us talk
About that time
When song was music
And poem was rhyme.

When soldiers stood
And fought to win
Against the evil
Of temptation's sin.

Come, let us think
Of love's pure dream
That flowed so freely
As the crystal stream.

When ladies danced
And men feared not.
When heaven beamed
Like the sun; golden hot.

So let us imagine
That time now lost,
And freedoms gained
From the lives that paid the cost.
