Still waters glisten and rivers roar

by Jason   Mar 18, 2007

Don't ask me to be good, righteous or true
if it will serve my purpose i will try
but don't ask of me what i cannot do

i do not freeze
i do not warm

i know how to move
i know how to thrust
that's all there is and that's all i do

i do not stop to see the pale sun slide
i do not pause to see the water lilies glide
i have no past no beginning no future no end

a pond may be the perfect place for love, beauty and happiness to lie
but truth is in the journey and love, beauty, and happiness are pushed aside

i am a Roaring River without banks
without friends
without foes

i have but one purpose to see that my water forever flows

Sounds selfish...guess if this is totally about a little bit of water,it's almost true...butbut it seems maybe some of it is a little about something about you......well written, though

Like what you have written....interesting......especially these lines:

a pond may be the perfect place for love, beauty and happiness to lie
but truth is in the journey and love, beauty, and happiness are pushed aside

Great metaphors, imagery and flow! Hope to read more from you. All the best, Debbie
