Against the Shore

by Samantha lynn   Mar 20, 2007

Against the shore
Throwing optimistic dreams
To salt tainted winds
You're again left standing
On the brink of love struck
Heart sunk,
Battered down songs.

I thought this was supposed to be
"Forever"
And forever for all of love.
I look into you're closed eyes,
So kind and haunted
So magical and so negative
And forever is never enough.

I left my smile still sitting
On the night stand in your room
A photo of our better days
Of the times we were young.
When days were left better off
For the string of tomorrow's
We'll wait to see
But tomorrow never came
And those photos began to fade
Before they were ever made.

And now, we're left standing
Against the shore
Throwing optimistic dreams
Back into the wave's
And know that love will never again
Be moved with a kiss
Stolen in a breath
Given in faith
Like the days before,
When you were still here
And still safe with me.

    I love this so much.
My first love can be associated with this song.
