Tired, lonely girl

by Kelsey   Mar 21, 2007

Tried, lonely girl
that is all I see.
I don't want to believe it,
but deep down I know it's me
I'm wearing that fake smile again.
The one that helps me through the day.
It has always been my biggest sin.
I have to wear it no matter what they say.

I really don't want to see her.
She'll just tell the same old story
The one about how my life is going by in a blur.
It's a story that is both sad and lonely.
I just want to shatter her face.
Watch those pieces fall to the floor.
I'll tie them together with a delicate piece of lace.

Maybe I'll throw them out the door
I must not cut myself
For that is what she would want.
Maybe I'll put her high up on a shelf.
Then her smile would no longer be allowed to taunt.
Behind her eyes lie so much pain.
Her face is like a sad song.
One you hear on a day made up of rain.

She's wishing that special someone would come along,
to hold her tight,
to make her see
that everything will be alright.
But no one will because that tired, lonely girl is me.
