Waves

I watch the waves
from a sandy beach
watching the waves ride in
then slowly retreat

how fast they come
and how quick they leave
the very action
confuses me

the power they bring
upon the sand
the stones they fling
at their command

all the while leaving in peace
without a struggle
but never will they cease
to rage there fury upon the sand

the sand gives in.. life goes on
the waves use the sand to trample upon.
