Gone

Everything was going great,
We thought you had decided to stay,
But then you told us the news,
And I knew our good times had come to an end.

And when I watched you leave,
On that airplane in the sky,
I felt such emotion,
That I cannot explain.
For, even though you are my brother,
You are my only brother,
The one I haven't spent more than a week apart from.

And when you were gone,
And had left me for what I knew was going to feel like forever,
I cried,
And hoped that when you got back,
You would never leave,
That you would never do that to me again.

Because you left,
I don't feel the same,
I feel like a part has left me,
That refuses to come back.

I will miss the fights we always had,
The way we always knew each other,
And cheered one another up,
Because I know that when you come back,
You will be different,
Older,
Wiser,
And I will miss the care-free side of you.

When you come back,
I will be happy,
But only for a little while,
Because I know that you will leave again,
This time maybe Iraq,
But I will make the best of it,
When you return,
Because I just cant handle it,
