A Friend

by dollwithafrown   Mar 23, 2007

The knife, the blade
The reflection of your face
Crystal filling the moonlight shine

The darkness, the pain
The emptiness seeping through you
Like you have nobody to run to

Your saviour, your only survivor
A light in a dark tunnel
There to pick up the pieces

Scraping across the complexion
Red entwined with skin
Releasing your inner worries

Nobody can fix a broken heart
But the pain can be replaced
By a friend that cannot fight back

This is an old poem. I wrote it a year ago on the 27th. I just found it, and decided to post it to see what people think.

I liked this, the depth and emotion behind the words are clear for all to see.
I can really tell the difference from your writing then and now, but although this is old, it's still pretty damn good!

I read your profile. That quote is so true. I'[m glad you pointed out and really read my poem because those other poets obviously didn't and just wanted me to comment on their poem.

I also enjoyed how much thought you put into that comment. Long comments on improvement are beter then '5/5 thats great!'

    I admire you.
Honestly I didnt particularly like this poem. Only because I prefer poems that rhyme. I've decided to not vote because it would unfair on you. I'd be voting more on preference then your standard of writing.

thanks again for the comment, you're my new idol!

This was a pretty good poem. You can really read the difference between your poems now, and your poems in the past. You can see how they have matured. But still, you had talent then also. That last verse is so true. So very true!..
