Animals without souls

by Iola   Mar 24, 2007

The ape wounds himself and pull his insides out,
When he feels pain inside his bones.
The elephant crushes all that causes fury and doubt,
Whilst the baboon throws its enemies with stones.

The mocking bird spreads its wings and fly into the night,
Each time restriction causes frustration or routine.
The mole digs deeper into his haven without sight,
Hoping to escape the judgment of what cannot be seen.

The snake sheds its skin when it looses its flair,
And leave what's dry and brittle behind.
The widow spider opens her jaws and eat the man for whom she cares,
Therefore destroying the one that makes her cry.

Is this the difference between animals and souls,
Lessons of the universe that doesn't consistently apply?
Unfair it seems when we are trying to be whole,
But at least an answer to a thousand questions of why.
