Aching

by Lyndsay Kalyta   Mar 25, 2007

Every tear that falls
Is a piece of her heart breaking
Can't you see how much
This precious girl is aching

Every tender touch of yours
Leads her on
She sits up at night
And wonders how she went wrong

She holds herself
As she puts out her dream
She thought you were her world
But things weren't as they seemed

Now she'll spend eternity
Without you by her side
She tries to laugh it off
As she begins to cry

Now she's got your shirt
And she'll wear it tonight
She can smell you on it
And pretends to be alright

But she won't try anymore
To be your girl
She's aching too badly
To even live in this world

You took everything
When you told her good-bye
She'll love you forever
But for now, she's going to cry
