The Pitt II

by Katie   Mar 25, 2007

Back into the Pitt I walk
Going though with fear I balk
Only knowing
What must be done
Knowing that my time had gone

Stepping slowly
Moving stealthily
Moving toward the Pitt of Hell
Knowing soon to see the dwelling

The Dwelling of the Devil
Demons laughing in the Pitt
Flames leaping
Angels redeeming
Weeping their soft tears

Slowly then I open the door
My shadow sinking to the floor
Knowing now all my sins
The ledgers marked paid in full

The devil's demon
Leads me laughing
To an enclosed hell
Demons jumping
Flying, flittering

Knowing I'm the next,
They laugh uproariously; Perhaps
With the knowledge
Of my recent death?

Now they grin
Evilly
I know the time has come
You see, my friend the devil
I've already gone

Now I'm here
At your merciless hand
Devil, I have never died in sin
I am not here to serve your time

I wish it be known, Devil
Why I am here
I know your secrets
I know your fears

I am here now,
You see
I am here to be
Your final fall

Devil, you have never asked my name
You say you know you are the best
But I wish you to know it all the same
You see, Devil, I am
The Angel of your Death
