Reflection

by Vincent Libin   Mar 28, 2007

Your reflection shows your beauty
in a whole other way
than ever shown.

As my breathing chokes,
my attention drawn on
the body that reflects my pain.

I look at you,
not directly,
as you do.

I try to sleep,
but wake again
with the same fresh
tears in the same old eyes.

I caress your picture
one more time
and remember
the day again.

Sleeping silence starts
to tease me,
making my heart numb.

I throw you a quick but
silent kiss and try to sleep,
try to meet you at my dreams.

When I close my eyes,
you whisper that nothing’s
going to change.

Although I’d agree,
I never was aware
that you were lying
next to me.
