The Artist

While the mathematician is bound by numbers, locked into equations, shackled by formulas set down as unbreakable laws, the heart of the artist is open. While the scientist toils away under the weight of empirical evidence, corralled by a framework of controls, the heart of an artist is free. While the geographer plots his map with layers of lines and legends of reference, he is burdened with unmistakable edges of knowable territories, yet the heart of the artist is boundless. As the historian relates events of the past through indisputable facts, confined in the telling by a definitive start and an ultimate end, the heart of an artist creates.
