Remnants of Night

by LadyPearl   Mar 31, 2007

Misty shadows crawl over waters
River by river, pouring like liquid
pass him. The star of heaven watch
as figures dance beneath. How
fond they were of this classic man--
with classical features that pass an
artist's eye. And oh how flowers rose to meet,
To touch a hand of fire, to feel the need.
Adoring him, like a nymph of the lake,
Eyeing him closely, this star of heaven.
He lights the night and fades at dawn
Leaving some hearts to laugh and others
to cry. They call him beast, tall and strong
Hunger for passion and lust for the night
Faeries and humans follow him alike
Kissing his path as if bound by his might
Yet in the end, the very end of the river
They find no more of him, only that the
river was just a river and they were just night
