Scared

by jenae   Mar 31, 2007

She'd walk down the hall,
and people would stare,
they'd laugh and they'd giggle,
because she had no hair,

she'd go home and cry,
her tears in a cup,
her mom would just sigh,
but never give up,

the doctor would say,
there's a very slim chance,
she felt her dreams slip away,
something she never wanted to say,

the day finally came,
when she was asked to the game,
her face one big smile,
she's been waiting for awhile,

she was wrapped in his arms,
he was holding her tight,
then she fell to the ground,
without a fight,

he grabbed her arm,
he did no harm
he thought she was teasing,
but she wasn't breathing,

the ambulance came,
pushed through to the sight,
people moved back,
struck with fright,

her mom came home,
with a message on the phone,
her mom's number one fear,
was now very near,

she tried to reach the bed,
but she fell to her knees,
her daughter is dead,
but she still grabbed her keys,

nothing could bind,
not even baking,
a million thoughts in her mind,
of the life God's taking,

now she lay at home,
all day in the bed,
she still couldn't believe,
her daughter is dead.
