UNREQUITED LOVE.....

The tears run down my face
burning like acid rain.
My heart beats a broken melody
trying to cover the tearing pain.

The sad report of my mournful cry
Echoes across the lonely night.
Rocking within my own empty arms
wishing somehow to make it all right.

Why does the pain seem to grow?
And the tears never want to end.
Why does my heart keep breaking?
And yet I keep loving her again and again.

I close my eyes but sleep never comes,
As pictures of her run through my mind.
She is every image playing in my thoughts.
A collection of everything good and kind.

How can Love be so one sided,
Though two were meant to play.
Its wrong to make someone love you,
When their heart leads them another way.

Empty words on a paper I write,
Trying to make sense of it all.
Looking for words to soothe my hurt,
While hopelessly wanting her to call.

Maybe tomorrow the tears will stop,
And my heart will find some peace.
But my love for her will always be
And my longing will never cease.

    I can relate to this. True love is so powerful that it completely overwhelms us.
    I'm aching but can't stop loving.

    What a very sad poem of love. Your words cry for you. The emotions run down your pages. Great job. I guess it is hard to love one that does not love you the same way. It is also hard to love your true love that passed away. Both are very painful.

    Maybe tomorrow the tears will stop,
    And my heart will find some peace.
    But my love for her will always be
    And my longing will never cease.

    This sums it up all very nicely.
