A Poem A Day (4-2-07)

by XSugarSexSuicideX   Apr 4, 2007

Walk up on stage,
Enter stage right,
Stare out at the audience,
Look around,
Blink and smile,
Get used to the lights,
Feel the red
Rising up in your
Cheeks and ears.

Start to speak,
High and low,
Loud and soft,
Expressions changing
As fast as the wind,
Smiling, laughing,
Screaming, crying,
Gazing around,
The nervousness
Fades away,
Every now and then,
Staring right into
A camera flash.

After the performance,
Smiles and laughs,
Congratulations,
Happiness,
The joys of knowing
You did a good show,
They’re out there
Cheering for you,
The embarrassment of
Being up on stage
Disappears,
Knowing you’re with
Your stage-side sidekicks,
Your performing partners,
Your die-for-drama family.
