Jack Daniels

by Temptation   Apr 4, 2007

A bitter smile on my lips
Bottle in my hand

A heart filled sorrow so deep,
While the bottle moves to my mouth

A hug - a kiss
All for her, my smile only widens

The bottle is my release, you see
Shows me who I want to be

I want to be me, I want to be me with you
I realize that I'll never have your tender kiss pressed to my lips.

Don't worry though and don't feel bad
I've got someone else running through my head.

When I'm with him, the feelings wash away
When I think of you when I'm with him, I only laugh

He doesn't yell and doesn't shout,
What he does is help me block you out.

His name is simple, hard to forget
He wears it on his label.

Jack Daniels has taken your place...
