Fight for All the Wrong Reasons

by dollwithafrown   Apr 5, 2007

You were a bad boy from the beginning;
A rebel without a cause.
Yet your deep brown eyes, they drew me in,
Despite your never-ending flaws.

I stuck up for you every single day
When that temper of yours shone through.
It's true when they say that love is blind
Because I seemed to fall for you.

I was fighting for all the wrong reasons,
Turned my back on those I loved.
I thought you felt the same as me,
But somehow it wasn't enough.

I believed that sticking up for you
Would earn me the love I yearned.
Yet I was wrong in what I thought;
You just left me with my worst fears.

    Wow this was sad.. and yet again not someting I've read about very often.. you have such wonderful topics not taboo and not overdone, but also not boring at all. I really loved the last stanza its true you cant earn someone love it has to be given freely. Nice write.
