The Spider-Song

by dollwithafrown   Apr 5, 2007

"Itsy bitsy spider," that's what my momma sang
With her strong Scottish accent, and an American twang.
She sang it in the daytime, and then again at night.
It seemed to cure my worries, for things that gave me fright.

How ironic is that? That something so frightful,
Could calm me right down, it's somehow delightful.
A story of a spider, an ugly hairy beast;
A simple bedtime tale, that seemed to scare me least.

So I thank my momma now, for telling me about,
The itsy bitsy spider, that tried to climb its spout.
It helped me when I was younger, I slept all night long,
Just because my momma sang me, The Spider-Song.
