When I need someone to listen
And not tell me how to feel,
I know that I can talk to God,
His love for me is real.

I know that he could fix my life,
If he wanted to,
But he lets me fix things by myself,
Just like I ought to do.

God has plans for me
Whether I like it or not,
He has a path for me to take,
To face what life has brought.

I need to make the right choices,
To find out what is good,
To take the path that's toward the light,
Just like I know I should.

He knows that I'm not helpless,
Though I act it day to day,
And even when I make mistakes,
He loves me anyway.

I can't see whats ahead of me,
Only what's behind,
But God's not giving up on me,
He's made up his mind.

No matter how irrational
My problem seems to be
He always sits and listens close,
I know that he loves me.

When my day is done
And I lay down in my bed,
And I know that he has listened
To every word I've said,
That is when I realize
I am who I am
Because thats how he made me,
I'm all part of his plan!
