Let Me Be First

by Dacey Flame   Apr 8, 2007

Lay me down dead,
On this cold easter's eve.
I know that
I have only caused pain.
I have always come out
Blind.
Blind to your words.
Blind to your intentions.
I didn't mean harm,
But I have screwed up.
Not once, nor twice,
But so many times.
You didn't deserve hurt,
Let me die first.
Sacrificial.
To show you I meant it,
When I told you I loved you.
Let me show you I care.
And how truely sorry I've been.
I have lived, experienced.
If it should be, I'll give it up.
So bright am I that
I'm not even clear how to do it.
But I don't mind screwing up suicide,
I don't mind one little bit,
If it will save you.

This isn't my best poem or even a very good poem, but I mean every word and that's gotta count for something.
