Poem about interacial relationships

I thought the world had gotten better
i thought if it was love you were supposed to be together

didn't think color was supposed to matter anymore
thought it was something you could ignore

i guess i don't know much i guess i was wrong
i guess being different was wrong all along

i thought we had gotten past the issue of race
thought the world had become a better place

i guess things aren't so different after all
i guess it really will be our downfall

why is it so hard to just accept
why have the boundaries of color been kept

is it this bad everywhere
is the whole world really this unfair
