Does True love last forever?

Does true love last forever?
Can two be torn apart?
They say everything's meant to be broken,
meant to fall apart.

I finally found the love of my life.
He is my everything.
He makes me smile like no other can.
I cry thinking it could end.

I love him more than I love my own mother,
and cherish him like I do my maker.
He is the only person that makes me happy,
the only thing I could not live without.

He is one of a kind,
not like any other.
He stood by my side holding me,
when others would've been quick to run.

I threw him for quite a whirl at first,
yet he's still here for me,
listening to my worries,
and holding me tightly when things get rough.

My mother turned her back on me,
finding other things more important.
I suspect he will eventually do the same,
since they say there's no love like a mothers.

But if true love last forever,
we will always be together.
Is everything really meant to be broken,
Meant to fall apart??
