False Pretense.

by SmileeItsBritt   Apr 13, 2007

Truth lies in the darkest places
Reveal it and it hurts... you will recall
Comprehending your reality seems useless
They're all just waiting for you to fall
Pretend that you can't feel it,
Embrace yourself in concrete lies
For no one can shatter your hope here
They can't see through placid eyes
Promises here lack actuality
Some should undoubtedly be left unsaid
You can wish upon your shooting stars,
But your broken heart will never mend
So keep lying through your teeth darling
That smile you wear is the latest trend
Faking all that matters,
These thoughts they have no end.
Everything is wonderful
Now that's a lie we can both keep
Falling under false pretenses,
In this lie - you play the lead.
Stutter something truthful
If you think that'll serve you best,
Create yourself a heart of stone
Or you'll fall with all the rest.
