Suspended

Over tea and biscuits
With delicate conversationalists,
Out will walk the smiles
From their pristine faces.

Words suspended amid the air
Like diamond birds and butterflies.
"Tea? Coffee? Milk? Two sugars?"
Let us watch the perfect picture fall?

A simple word with simple meaning,
slaps their face like dust
They bite their tongue throughout the day
Their tea washed down with blood

Let's be fooled by the grace of gifts
And sell our hearts to beauty.
Let us watch the perfect picture fall
In utter damn hypocrisy.

I dont know. Something to do when you visit a relative with your parents as a child, and you know your parents dont like who their visiting, or one of them. I put an "elitist" spin on it...hence the "beauty."
Upper class b**ches really.
