On this cold and starry night, I sit and ponder life
I ponder the meaning and the search for happiness
That happiness which you bring me so fresh in my mind
That twinkle in your eye I recall makes me smile so wide
How can this be so wrong and yet feel so right?
How can we be so content in each other's arms?
How can our hearts beat faster at the very thought,
The thought of being so close to hear the other's heartbeat?
Although I am sure you may never say it with so many words,
I know in your heart you love me with so much of your heart
The same is true for what I feel, yet I tell so easily in my actions
My feelings grow stronger each waking moment you are near
With affection I fear may be too strong for us both to conquer
I simply follow the heart and pray all feelings are protected
I wish for another time when we could have met so freely
Yet destiny had other plans and comply we must
I'll take you in my heart for always and never let go
Perhaps someday our love will be allowed to blossom.
