What is love? A word not to be taken or used lightly
When you said you loved me did you mean it
I sit and stare at your picture and wish it was true
For people in love often do all they can to be together
So why do I feel so lonely when your are not far away
Why must my heart ache so much and leave me depleted
I thought what we had was special and would last forever
But, Alas, it was more difficult than it seemed
Though I understand our separate paths I can’t help but wonder
I often dream about what could have been
Did everything have to end in this way
Was there no chance between us for survival
I cannot even look at you without having feelings
I cannot even think of you without a flutter in my heart
What can I say, what can we do but express our love
To hold each other and feel our affections flowing endlessly
Promise from today that you will always remember me
if you must leave then please keep our memories alive
I cannot bear the thought of not having you near me
But if you walk away forever I will have to understand
I do love you more than I ever thought was possible
The piece of my heart reserved for you just got bigger.
