But it'll do.

But the telephone cords won't touch the ground.

My fingers have lost sensation;
Numb from pressing the redial
It's sad to say, darling,
That's it's been this way for more than a while.

Can Oxygen be passes through telephone wires?
Words leave me breathless, and set my lungs to fire.
It's safe to say,
Through all the x rays,
I've given the redial button a rest for the time being.

Reluctant to miss the chance

I'm so numb, I've grown exhausted of these fingers
And breathing in the empty lines and static noise.

Cracked lungs is all I can offer
Cause I'm not one with a way with words
But we could compare phone bills and x rays

And we'll see whose is worse.
