Me

by BrokenREALiTy   Apr 17, 2007

I'm confused,
Can't see myself.
Broken mirror before me,
Reveals oneself.

Punch the wall,
And cry in grief.
See yourself,
Stare in disbelief.

Take in reality,
This is the real you.
Don't doubt the world,
As many do.

Watch your image,
See what's deep inside.
Look within the eyes,
Where even the soul can't hide.

I look at me,
Try to figure out who I am.
Thinking to myself,
Why do I give a damn?

Ignorant and immature,
This is what a broken mirror reveals.
The true face of one person,
Cracked with broken seals.

I stare at myself,
And see the devil hiding.
Questioning myself,
The answers, still deciding.

Who am I?
And why am I here?
These are the two questions,
That I hold dear.

I have no idea why I wrote this. I don't even get it. This philosophy unit is really screwing with my head.

This actually kinda makes sense to me...Its almost like a struggle within yourself to find who you are and why you are that person. Its like you dont think people see who you really are and when you stop to think about it, you dont like what you are anyways. The mirror is a symbol of your inner self, the cracked mirror is showing that you are broken inside...youd rather think of yourself as a horrible person rather than that there is a shred of human descency inside of you. I really like this poem...very deep...if I missinterpreted it, I appologize...its what I took from it.
