Virginia Tech*

I saw death on the news today
32 dead and more they say.
Virginia Tech has attracted viewers
but sadly not for cancer cures.

A killer selfishly took their lives
and we stand back wondering why?
Why would he have these guns with him?
Now thirty-two lives will never begin.

Some lives are ended; some forever changed
As families wonder what will stop the pain.
Death is an end to a life that was,
but sores don't heal when the life was love.

Yeah, students from across the nation
are offered by family an invitation
to come back home where they'll feel safe,
but hoping to grieve they want to stay.

I saw life on the news tonight
as Virginia Tech began to unite;
strangers holding each others hands
letting us know just where we stand.
In times of heart ship, love is strong
and nothing can kill the student's bond.
