Am I Not Good Enough For You?

by Meet Me On Thames Street   Apr 21, 2007

What's wrong with me,
Am I not good enough for you?
Do you really have to say those things?
And crack those hurtful jokes.
Is it really so hilarious,
When I mess up or falter?
All I ever did to you,
Was be myself and stay true.

And by the way,
There's nothing wrong with being smart.
So maybe that's your problem.
You're just not smart enough to see,
That real friends aren't so mean.

It's ok to crack a joke or two.
But there's just so much more that you do.
So until you except me for me,
We just can't be friends,
Because I'm the only me I'll ever be.
