A Lesson Learned

by Dwain   Apr 13, 2004

A lesson learned in time
Time and time again
This paper heart is burning
Scars written on in pen
The ink still left bleeding
Ceases every now and then

A lesson left wasted
Wasted on you
The paper heart is trembling
Its you whose cutting through
Rigid scraps left falling
Suddenly caught out of the blue

A lesson left behind
Behind with shifting judgement
The paper heart restored
New heights reached without precedent
What was once bleeding
Taped together with faint scars
This paper heart is mended
At least from afar
