This Poem Doesn't Need a Title

by Danielle   Apr 24, 2007

Sometimes I cannot look at this scolding world,
Because the people lie and deceive.
But I see the beauty in all
I close my eyes and breathe.
I can't hate this world,
It's a shame because I do.
I'm reluctant to agree,
But I love this world too.
This scorn and hate I can't regret
Eats away at me.
I'm looking through broken glass,
I can't explain the quality I see.
I'm mesmerized by gracious fate,
That chastised my free will
I seek light from fortune
When the devil breaks our deal.
Equality seems so far away,
Beyond the waning moon.
I strive for efficiency
And whistle a cheery tune.
I'm in love,
I'm crying deep inside.
This magnificent world in which I live
Causes me to run and hide.
Like a cold drink,
Society soothes my pain
With all the cruel misconceptions
Scrambled in my brain.
Someday I will shake hands with the world
And for once be content.
As I sit in blissful misery
The War of Treason does commence.
