Everyday Woman

by Lyndsay Kalyta   Apr 25, 2007

Got another cup of coffee
Took that long awaited sip
Stopped at the mall for some shopping
Before picking up the kids

Talking on the phone
While paying all the bills
Busy cleaning up the home
And there's dinner to make, still

Six o'clock, there's a soccer game
And after, there's ballet
When you get home it's half past eight
And there's still four hours to your day

Throw some clothes in the wash
While throwing down your hair
Turn off the TV you didn't watch
Take off your makeup that's everywhere

He says that you don't need
All the makeup that you put on
There's something that he sees
When the mascara is gone

He wraps his arms around you
And kisses you softly on the cheek
He is proud of all that you do
Your strength makes him weak

He says, "You juggle being a mom
A taxi, a cook, and a wife
When everything in my day has gone wrong
I get to come home to this everyday woman of mine"
