La Belle Indifference

by Tiffany   Apr 26, 2007

It's a beautiful indifference,
The innocence a child holds
The gentle glistening in their eyes
Knowledge of nothing yet everything

A heart not taught to hurt or grieve
A mind not ruined by TV thieves
No arrogant thought is to be seen
In essence, everything we want to be

Their giggles are so carefree,
full of naivety
Smiles may brighten the darkest day
Hearts of gold shine through--
A warmth so healing it can medicate

Life will soon be a teacher
We all learn to hate to have
People are cruel in their deepest spot
Lessons move us down our life paths

Experience will break children down
You can help fight the tide
But it will take them anyhow

Still, life will not be full of disappointment
Changes may become something great
If you stay in their lives for the process
"good things come to those who wait"
