Dreaming of You

by linds   Apr 26, 2007

Each new dream is a mirror of my soul
a glimpse of what my mind desires,
of what I want in my life.
And what I want,
is you.

I want you to hold me when I'm down,
to wipe away my tears.
Wipe away the tired memories,
erase the prolonged fears.

Just when everything seems so right,
you're holding my hand, telling me everything will be alright.
It all seems too good to be true,
when my mind takes control.
Suddenly, everything is disarray,
you're fading away,
and I realize this is just another dream.

I pray to god to wake up now,
before this fantasy becomes a nightmare.
I try to open my eyes,
but my mind is already playing its tricks.
My head is filled with ever-haunting
monsters that never seem to fade.

Finally, my eyes snap open.
You're nowhere to be seen.
The monsters retreat to the depths of my mind,
until my next restless slumber.

And each night comes,
with a calming apprehension.
Too scared to close my eyes.
But now I must go;
You're on my mind again,
and soon to be in my dreams...
