Superficial

by linds   Nov 2, 2006

Hopes held high, for those who shine.
Come back strong from that one-two punch
with that superficial smile, painted perfect on your face.
Don't let them see you\'re weak.
You're gonna walk this lonely mile
with your head held high, lookin toward the sky
sayin'...

I'm not gonna be that girl
you want me to be.
I'm gonna make mistakes
I'm gonna say the wrong thing.
I can't fool myself,
this isn't me.

I'm gonna wake up now,
day by day.
Somehow makin' life work
in its own way.

I know I'm not gonna find Prince Charming,
'cause I'm not fit for the life of a queen.
Nothin' comes that easy, it doesn't work that way.
Sometimes the glass slipper just doesn't fit.

But you gotta let your story unfold,
you can't do exactly what you're told.
It may not be the perfect fairytale,

But atleast you get your happy ending.
